I used a lacey diagonol to the left from the 400 Knitting Stitches Book (http://www.amazon.ca/400-Knitting-Stitches-DIctionary-Essential/dp/0307462730) with a merino wood for the inner part of the scard and then did a double crochet stitch with some funky yarn for the outter edges. It was super fun to make! The yarn for the inner part I bought at Mary's Yarn, and the outter funky yarn came from Hot Yarns (http://www.hotyarns.com/).

The COPIED hairband
My friend saw a hairband at Holt's a few months ago and sent me the picture... she asked me if we could make it.
So on size 2.75 needles and some super fine lace yarn we started knitting. We also had to double the thickness and as our plan was to fold the hairband to make it extra warm. Talk about some intricate knitting. I crossed the middle half of the stitches in a back cable to to the fold and voila!
Now I have my own Holt's inspired head band for my ears!
